Can I rent a horse?

Yes! Rental horses are available to our registered trail riders. Call Danny, 309-337-1100, as soon as possible if you would like to reserve horses. See our rate schedule for a complete listing of fees.

Can I rent a wagon?

Wagon rental is available to experienced teamsters. Call Danny at 309-337-1100 for rates and reservation. We will need to know how many people will be riding in your rented wagon. Other registered trail riders can ride in our wagons driven by our experienced teamsters for $20/day for adults; free for children who are under age 13 at time of registration. Call as soon as possible if you would like to reserve a wagon or wagon ride space.

Where do we sleep?

In your own tent, camper, motor home, or motel room if you prefer and if there is one available near our stop.

Can I just sign up for a day?

Yes! You can sign up for as many or as few days as you like. Download our PDF Registration form here.

Can I walk?

Yes!

Are outriders welcome?

Yes!

Do I have to buy your meals?

No. You may bring your own food and/or purchase food along the ride. If you are not purchasing our meals, the trail ride fee is $50/day for adults and $20/day for children under the age of 13.

How do we get our vehicles moved to our destination?

Some movers are available or rides back to get them will be too.

Are there shower facilities at the campgrounds we will be staying at along the way?

At some campgrounds, but not all.

Do you have family or group discounts?

Yes! Contact us with the number of your party and we will provide a quote.

How far will we be traveling each day?

15 to 20 miles per day.

What time will we start traveling each day?

It will vary, depending on the weather. We will want to be moving on the trail by 8:00 a.m. If it is hot, possibly earlier. We will usually reach night camp by about 4:30 p.m.

How much do the meals cost?

$20/day per person.

Is there entertainment at night?

There will be on some nights.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes! Obedient dogs are welcome.

Is feed and water available to purchase for the animals?

Yes! Feed will be available for purchase. Water will be available free.

Will there be a farrier at camp?

Yes!

What if my horse becomes ill or hurt?

We will have professionals on the trail with us and a vet on call.

What if I have to use the restroom while we are on the trail?

We will have portable restrooms on the trail and in camp at night.

Can I save money by signing up early?

Yes! Call Danny 309-337-1100 for early bird rates and family / group discounts.

If I leave the ride and go home, can I come back out on the trail?

Yes! You can join the trail on any day throughout the ride.

Do you travel on Sunday?

No.

Does camp always have a building to eat in?

Not always.

Do you travel on highways or secondary roads?

We will traveling on secondary roads for most of the ride.

Are there electrical hookups at night camp?

Some campsites will have electrical hookups; some won't.

Is there water to drink on the trail?

Yes! Drinking water will always be available.

Do I need to dress in period clothing?

No.

Can I use my rubber tired wagon?

Yes!
