This year we traveled approximately 390 miles from Council Bluffs, Iowa to Lake Ogallala, Nebraska. We again welcomed more people into our train family and hope to see everyone plus more next year. Please keep in touch with us and watch our website. We'll be laying the trail for next year's ride very soon and plan to have the itinerary up in a month or so.

Join Danny Van Fleet, for the ride of a lifetime

The Mormon Trail Wagon Train and Hand Cart 150-year reenactment in 1996 and 1997 brought families and individuals together from many states and countries. Most of us were strangers to one another at the beginning of the trail. None of us were sure we could make the entire trek, but the farther we traveled, the more we wanted to complete the trail all the way to Utah.

Some joined the wagon train along the way. Everyone was welcome to come along. As the wagon train made its way west, problems would arise, but obstacles were overcome as we worked together as one large family to make it all the way.

Trail West 2009 was another life changing experience

As we traveled the trail last year, from Nauvoo, Illinois, to Winter Quarters, Nebraska, and then this year from Council Bluffs, Iowa to Ogallala, Nebraska, we've again ended with bittersweet tears. We're happy to be going home, but we're sad to separate from the train. We've continued our new legacy and built upon bonds created last ride as well as created new lifelong friendships. We now have an even larger family of people experiencing the footsteps of our pioneering ancestors and we hope you will join us next year! Keep in touch and watch our web as we lay the trail for next year's ride.

Thank you, everyone!
